Eddy Current Inspection for Small Parts (Bolts, Pins, Washers) – Automated Sorting Systems

Inspecting small components can be challenging due to their low mass and weak electromagnetic coupling. For this reason, specially designed inspection coils with a high fill factor are used to ensure reliable testing performance.

Parts can be fed into the system either manually or through a vibratory bowl feeder. An indexing mechanism introduces the components into the test coil one by one, ensuring stable positioning during the inspection process.

Based on the test result, an automatic gate mechanism directs the component to either the OK bin or the Reject bin. The system can achieve an inspection capacity of up to 40 parts per minute.
