Eddy Current Inspection for Motor Stators (Automated Crack Detection Systems)

Eddy Current Inspection for Motor Stators (Automated Crack Detection Systems)

The fully automated Eddy Current inspection system is designed to ensure fast and reliable inspection of critical components such as engine stator shafts in high-precision manufacturing environments. With its robot-assisted automation architecture, the system can be seamlessly integrated into production lines and operates continuously without operator intervention.
The stator shafts to be inspected are fed into the system on pallets via a roller conveyor. A programmed industrial robot picks up each part individually from the pallet and places it into the inspection station equipped with an array of Eddy Current probes. At this stage, the machined surfaces of the engine stator shafts are automatically scanned for cracks and surface defects using high-sensitivity probe technology.

After the inspection is completed, the system PLC evaluates the test results and sends an accept or reject signal. The robot then removes the part from the inspection station and places it onto the corresponding accept or reject conveyor line, allowing the parts to exit the guarded area for easy operator collection.
By combining robotic handling, automated decision-making, and an integrated conveyor system, this solution provides:
  • 100% automated quality inspection for engine stator shafts
  • High-speed and repeatable inspection performance
  • Elimination of operator-related errors
  • Automatic accept/reject sorting
  • Seamless integration with production lines
By integrating advanced non-destructive testing technology with industrial automation, this system offers a reliable and efficient quality control solution for engine manufacturing and precision mechanical component production.
