Penetrant Inspection System (Dpı / Fpı)

Product Code : PTWS1
Category : Penetrant Inspection Lines (Dpı / Fpı Systems)

NEXSEN penetrant inspection systems provide high-performance solutions for the reliable detection of surface discontinuities in industries such as aerospace, defense, automotive, casting, railway systems, and general manufacturing.

NEXSEN penetrant inspection systems are developed using a fully customized engineering approach based on specific customer requirements and application needs. During the system design phase, parameters such as part geometry, weight, surface condition, daily inspection capacity, the type of penetrant method used (Visible or Fluorescent PT), and production line integration are carefully analyzed. Based on these parameters, the most suitable process flow and equipment layout are determined to design an optimized inspection line.

NEXSEN penetrant systems can be manufactured in manual, semi-automatic, or fully automated configurations and can be modularly configured according to process requirements. The installed systems typically consist of the following equipment and stations:
  • Penetrant application station
  • Washing station (for water-wash or solvent cleaning applications)
  • Drying station / drying oven
  • Developer application station (dry or wet developer systems)
  • Dark room for inspection under UV-A light
  • Inspection station with appropriate lighting conditions for fluorescent or visible penetrant systems
The entire system structure is manufactured using industrial-grade stainless steel construction suitable for harsh operating environments. The materials used are selected to ensure high resistance to penetrant chemicals and to provide long-term durability in industrial applications.
To ensure reliable inspection performance, the following technical parameters are carefully considered during system design:
  • UV-A light intensity and uniformity (µW/cm²)
  • White light levels (lux)
  • Environmental conditioning and temperature control
  • Uniformity of the drying process
  • Developer application control
  • Operator ergonomics and workplace safety
NEXSEN penetrant inspection systems are designed and manufactured in accordance with the following international standards:
  • ISO 3452 – Non-destructive testing — Penetrant testing
  • ASTM E165 / E165M – Standard Practice for Liquid Penetrant Examination
  • ASTM E1417 / E1417M – Standard Practice for Liquid Penetrant Testing
  • ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section V – Article 6
  • AMS 2644 – Penetrant inspection materials
  • ISO 3059 – Lighting requirements for NDT
  • ISO 9712 – Qualification and certification of NDT personnel
Upon request, the systems can be equipped with additional features such as conveyor systems, automatic chemical dosing units, UV intensity monitoring sensors, process timing control, data recording systems, and ERP/MES integration.
NEXSEN penetrant inspection systems provide high-performance solutions for the reliable detection of surface discontinuities in industries such as aerospace, defense, automotive, casting, railway systems, and general manufacturing.
