The system is a non-immersion automated ultrasonic inspection solution developed for the precise inspection of metallic plates, including steel and aluminum.

It utilizes both conventional ultrasonic testing (UT) and Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) techniques to perform volumetric inspection from the flat surface of the material. 

The system supports up to 8 independent inspection channels capable of operating with both longitudinal and shear waves, providing flexible inspection configurations.

 It is equipped with an overhead linear gantry system available in 3-axis or 4-axis configurations, allowing full coverage of the inspection area with high positioning accuracy. 

The probe assembly is designed with full compliance to maintain optimal contact and coupling conditions during scanning. A precise position encoding system ensures accurate defect localization and mapping across the plate surface. The system includes automatic Distance Amplitude Correction (DAC) functionality to ensure consistent signal evaluation. 

It operates using a localized immersion “bubbler” technique, eliminating the need for full immersion tanks while significantly reducing water usage and system complexity. This approach provides a cost-effective alternative to traditional immersion ultrasonic testing systems while maintaining reliable inspection performance.
