VOLTA FST is a portable EMAT (Electromagnetic Acoustic Transducer) ultrasonic testing system specifically designed for boiler tubes and thin-wall structures. Its non-contact inspection capability eliminates the need for couplant, enabling fast, reliable thickness measurement and flaw detection even on rough or oxidized surfaces. It is optimized for field use, significantly improving inspection speed and maintenance efficiency.

VOLTA FST is a compact and portable ultrasonic testing system based on EMAT technology, designed for the inspection of boiler tubes, pipelines, and pressure vessels. By enabling true non-contact measurements, the system eliminates the need for surface preparation, ensuring consistent and reliable results even on coated, oxidized, or high-temperature surfaces.
The system is available in two main configurations:
  • VOLTA FST-B: A single-channel unit with an integrated magnet pulser, ideal for manual inspection of boiler tubes
  • VOLTA FST-32: An advanced version with an 8:32 multiplexer, designed for automated inspections using scanning systems
VOLTA FST is particularly optimized for detecting hydrogen-induced cracking (HIC/HCC) and performing accurate wall thickness measurements in boiler tubes. Combined with handheld scanners, it enables fast and efficient field inspections, making it an ideal solution for maintenance and shutdown operations.
The system is also widely used for inspection of pipelines, pressure vessels, and industrial plant components. Its EMAT-based non-contact technology ensures reliable performance with minimal influence from surface conditions such as paint, scale, or roughness.
